It’s February, the month of love! To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to share a bit about my own love story and wedding. My partner Joel and I got married almost two years ago on June 11th, 2021, and I haven’t really shared our wedding photos yet. So, here’s a little peek into our special day!
Originally, we had booked a venue in San Jose for our wedding, but due to the pandemic, we unfortunately lost our original location. Thankfully, my uncle generously opened up his beautiful backyard in Sacramento for us to get married in. His property is surrounded by a river, covered in trees and a stunning garden, making it the perfect spot for a romantic and intimate wedding.
We wanted to keep our wedding simple and focus on good drinks, tacos, and creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could chat and hang out. We also decided to lean into color, using every color possible for the florals and table settings. My bridal party wore blues and golds, while Joel’s party went classic with black suits.
Our wedding was filled with so many personal touches and moments. Joel and I exchanged private vows during our first look before the wedding, which helped calm our nerves. We also took a moment to grab breakfast together before we started to get ready for the day. This was so special to us, as we both wanted to find moments to connect and spend time with each other before the big event.
We also had guest arrive early to enjoy happy hour with the groomsmen and served white wine, seltzers, water, and beer. My oldest brother officiated the ceremony, and my niece walked down the aisle as our bubble girl with bubble guns, which was a fun touch. Our ceremony was short and sweet, lasting less than five minutes, and then everyone walked over to the bar for a shot to kick off the celebration!
Thank you to our Vendors!
Overall, it was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and special moments. I’m so grateful for my husband Joel and for our families and friends who made our wedding so unforgettable. A huge shoutout to our amazing photographer, Sarah Eichstedt Photography, and our coordinator, Bre Garcia, who made sure everything ran smoothly. It was a day that we will always cherish, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
