My mom and dad eloped when they were 18 & 26. They took their two best friends, drove up to Reno, Nevada and got married at a little chapel. My mom told me she wore a brown wool dress and it was the hottest day in July. I love my mom and dad's wedding story - I love that they couldn't wait to commit to each other and now after 50 years they are still each other's best friend.
I wish I had photos of their wedding day. I wish I could see their first kiss, my mom's smile as she said I do & my dad's face when he slipped a ring on her finger. While I can imagine all of it, I wish I could hang my wedding photos next to my parents for the next generation of our family to see.
This is my why & why photography matters. It documents your legacy, it helps tell you story, it's proof of a life well lived, well love and well celebrated.
