When Haotian, Cindy, and I started planning their engagement photos, we wanted a spot that felt urban but low-key, with some greenery to balance it out. Downtown Pleasanton was the perfect choice!
Since moving to Pleasanton in 2022, I’ve been looking forward to shooting an engagement session here. The downtown area is full of charm—brick buildings, small local businesses, cozy homes, tree-lined sidewalks, and parks running right along Main Street. Plus, in the summer, the sunsets are stunning as the sun dips behind the rooftops.
For couples who want the urban feel without the hassle of big cities like San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose, I always recommend spots like Downtown Pleasanton, Niles in Fremont, or First Street in Livermore. These smaller downtowns offer everything you’re looking for without the stress.
What’s more, incorporating local businesses into the shoot adds personality. In past sessions, clients have grabbed coffee at Inkling’s to kick things off or stopped for ice cream at Meadowlark Dairy afterward. It’s these little moments that make the experience even more special.
Downtown Pleasanton is a great place for photos all year, but it’s especially beautiful during the summer and early fall.
Cindy and Haotian were such a joy to work with! They planned two outfits for their session.
We started in Lions Wayside Park, just behind Main Street, where they wore traditional wedding attire to honor their Vietnamese and Chinese cultures. The combination of brick walls and greenery made their outfits pop.
For their second outfit, they chose a more casual look. We strolled along Main Street to capture the warm glow of the setting sun. Their photos turned out beautifully, and I can’t wait to see them displayed at their wedding at Callippe Golf Course later this year.
Big congratulations to Cindy and Haotian!
I’d love to work with you to capture your special moments in Downtown Pleasanton! Whether it’s an engagement, family, or personal session, this charming location has so much to offer.
