Hey Friends,
I’m excited to share that I am doing something special this year for Fall Minis! While I’ll have my classic fall minis happening, this year I wanted to offer a session for people who might be facing some financial burdens.
Look, I get it. After I left my job last year to pursue photography full time, I spent a lot of time worried about money. And to be honest with you, I think that when you own a small business, that’s a fear that never really goes away—especially when the world continues to get more and more expensive.
After a year of running Shannon Alyse Photography, I wanted to find a way to give back to the community of people who have poured into my business so that I can continue to pursue my passions. This year, I saw that my photography friend Casey from Little Rae Photography was doing “Pay What You Can” sessions. What an amazing way to serve folks who want family photos but just can’t justify the costs this year. So, thank you, Casey, for the inspiration! She’s an amazing newborn, cake-smash, and family photographer in Livermore. You can check out her work here.
So, what does a “Pay What You Can” mini session even mean?
Basically, once a year, I offer condensed photoshoots that are shorter in length and provide fewer photos. These mini sessions are usually priced at $300.00.
Now, a “Pay What You Can” Mini is exactly that: you pay what you can. If you can’t pay anything, that’s okay, you can do $1.00 or $5.00, that’s okay. If you can do $50 or $100, that’s also okay. This session isn’t about the price; it’s about getting you and your family updated photos.
These “Pay What You Can” sessions will be on October 8, 2023, at Val Vista Park in Pleasanton, California. They include:
Here’s an example gallery of Val Vista Park.
You’ll be able to pick your favorite 5 photos and download them. You’ll also have the option to download your full gallery for a fee. I will deliver a gallery with about 20 images to choose from.
If this sounds like something you and your family can get behind, then go ahead and book now!
If you’ve done a mini with me before, awesome – you know the deal. But if you’re new around here and aren’t sure if you want to commit to a fall mini session, here are a few commonly asked questions that might help you make a decision!
Your digital gallery will be available for you in 15 business days.
Due to my limited availability this year, this will be the only date that I will be doing this type of session. But I do have other mini sessions that will be running through the fall. These sessions are $300 for 20 minutes and 20 photos. You can learn more about that here. The other good news is that I offer full sessions year round. These are 30-60 minute sessions where you’ll receive 50 photos and get to pick a location of your choice! If you’re interested in a full session with me, then please reach out at:
I do not require a deposit for this session. So all you have to do select your time and provide some details!
Once again, there is no fee for these sessions – you pay what you can. I will be taking payment via Venmo, PayPal or Apple Pay for those who would like to pay. I’ll send this info out before your session so we don’t have to have the weird convo about money during your ten minutes. 🙂
Each mini session includes 5 downloads. If you see that you want more than your 5 downloads, you are able to purchase more and I will send you a separate invoice for either 5, 10 or 15 extra photos. Costs look like this:
These sessions are available for up to 7 people. With the limited amount of time, any more people would make it difficult to get a variety of photos and poses.
This is such a bummer. I don’t offer reschedules for my mini sessions. I do my best to send you a map, location pins, multiple session reminders to help you prepare for your session. If for some reason you’re late, we will use the remaining time we have together to capture your photos, additional time will not be added to your session.
Please, I beg – don’t be a no show. These sessions are free and I know that there would be a family who would love that time if you are not able to attend.
I am so sorry to miss you. I will not be offering reschedules for this session. If you cancel, please give me as much notice as possible so that we can fill that time slot with another family.
Don’t worry, I’ll send over a guide to help you prepare for what to wear!
Thank you for working with me again this year! I can’t wait to see so many returning clients and hopefully some new friends as well! If you have any questions, always feel free to reach out to me at hello@shannonalyse.com!
With all my love,
Shannon
