Annica and Aaron’s Modern Wedding in Castro Valley Hillside was an intimate backyard party. The ceremony and reception took place at their private residence in Castro Valley. The house was a mid-century modern home with huge windows and a simple design. The home sat on a hillside surrounded by pine trees and tons of greenery, providing a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding.
Annica and Aaron have spent over a decade together, and when it came time to get married they had originally planned a traditional church wedding followed by a big reception with their friends and families. However, like many pandemic brides, they had to change their plans and switch things up for a smaller, more intimate celebration at a private home.
Despite the change of plans, Annica and Aaron still managed to infuse their wedding with style and flair. They chose deep greens, whites, and gold as their wedding colors, and Annica walked down the aisle in an off-the-shoulder satin wedding dress. Aaron met her at the end of the altar in a velvet green jacket. The wedding party wore all-black to compliment the natural greenery and white florals.
The ceremony and reception were intimate, with only 30 guests in attendance. The couple served tacos and had a full spread of a dessert bar, where family members treated the guests to homemade sweet treats instead of a cake. The couple put disposable cameras on each table and sent everyone home with food honoring their heritage, tasty Vietnamese and Filipino food.

The florist for Annica and Aaron’s wedding was Blooms and Twiggs, and the couple also had a second shooter, Desirae Marie Photography. The makeup artist was Melanie Lucero. Sand and Stone Media provided cinema and video services, and the event planner was Savant Garde Events.
Overall, Annica and Aaron’s Modern Wedding in Castro Valley Hillside was a beautiful and intimate celebration of love and commitment. They spent their special day surrounded by the natural beauty of their hillside home and the love of their family and friends.

Photographer, dog mom, book hoarder, and Trader Joe’s loyalist. I’m a Pisces, an ENFJ, and an Enneagram 3, which basically means I feel everything, care deeply, and always have a running to-do list (with color coding).
These days, I’m also figuring out life as a new mom — balancing baby snuggles with camera gear and reminding myself to slow down and soak it all in. I’ve built a career out of noticing the details, chasing the light, and turning everyday moments into art.
